Get to know Dr. Bryant
My background spans several different areas. Originally, I was a music teacher but wanted to make a difference in the lives of my students. So, I pursued a school counseling degree working as a school counselor for 8 years prior to starting my doctorate at the University of Iowa. After receiving my LMHC I left the state to serve as an assistant professor at several universities prior to returning to Iowa. I still teach counseling students as adjunct faculty at Walden University.
This background has afforded me not only wonderful training and supervision, but the ability to make a difference as a researcher and educator to counselors-in-training. It has allowed me to work with wonderful clients, and I am honored to be a part of their journey.
In addition to my university education, I also have specific training in:
EMDR
DBT
Trauma-Focused Approaches
Virtual Education/Counseling/Training
Parenting Strategies and Behavioral Interventions
Group Counseling
Expressive Therapies
Assessment
My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, relationship issues, chronic illness, child abuse and career counseling.
